About your Teachers
 Steven DiBlasi, Piano
Steven DiBlasi is originally from Philadelphia, PA, but has enjoyed the
privilege of frequent moves throughout his life until becoming very familiar
with most of the east coast. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in
Music with one year successfully completed. He began teaching for the College
of Continuing Education at Bevill State Community College in Hamilton, AL in
2003 and still doesn’t seem to have gotten enough of the children yet. Upon
completion of his degree at JSU, Steven looks forward to reenlisting once
again, this time in a doctoral program. Steven’s teaching stems from a desire
to find comfortable and humorous atmospheres that seem to make learning
inevitable and above all ensure a child’s first musical adventures to be
enjoyable.
 Matt Headley, Voice
Matthew Headley is a senior from Oxford and studies voice with Dr. Nathan Wight. Matthew received first place at state and regional NATS competitions in 2006 and has been on full vocal scholarship while at JSU. He has performed in principal roles for numerous Jacksonville Opera Theatre productions, most recently appearing as "Poo-bah" in Gilbert and Sullivan's comical operetta The Mikado. Matthew is the choir director at Red Hill UMC and the contemporary worship leader at Hokes Bluff UMC. He ascribes all of his accomplishments to his supportive family, teachers, friends and his faithful savior Jesus Christ. As a voice teacher Matthew wishes to guide students in developing their creative expression though a combination of technical and interpretive studies of singing. Utilizing experience attained through his studies at JSU and the Music Preparatory Program, Matthew aspires to share the gift of music with his community through private instruction, performance and music ministry.
