Dr. John Anthony Logsdon, Assistant Professor of Saxophone and Music Education, has taught at Jacksonville State University for three years. Dr. Logsdon teaches applied saxophone and directs a saxophone quartet. He also teaches several music education courses including Secondary Methods and Materials for undergraduate music education majors. Dr. Logsdon is also involved with student teacher supervision and works as a liason with the Jacksonville State University College of Education. He also teaches two graduate courses, Instrumental Music Seminar and Advanced Conducting. Dr. Logsdon has performed as a soloist on the Jacksonville State University Music Faculty Recital and has appeared as a soloist with the Jacksonville State University Wind Ensemble.

Dr. Logsdon received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Georgia. He earned the Master of Music degree and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in saxophone performance from the University of Georgia where he studied with Dr. Kenneth Fischer.

Prior to working at Jacksonville State University, Dr. Logsdon has held teaching positions at Bryan County High School, Cedar Shoals High School, and Athens Academy in Gerogia. He has also held adjunct teaching positions in applied woodwinds at Georgia Perimeter College in Atlanta, Gerogia and Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Gerogia.
