Suggestions for the Chapter Discussions.

For the Chapter Discussions, you will need to reply to my post in the discussion forum. Each chapter has a discussion forum (in the Discussion Board Area). You will find several topics to choose from in most chapters. Choose one and reply to that topic. You must write 100+ words for each discussion. Don't limit it to 100 words, that is just the minimum.

You must use proper English, grammar, spelling etc. Be sure to reference your sources and use quotations for direct quotes. Just make it clear to me what is borrowed (See Sample below). Do not plagiarize, please (It may seem that I am obsessed with this, but there have been problems in the past and I just want to be sure everyone is honest and abides by the rules).

The below samples are using parenthetical citations in two different ways. You may use MLA (Modern Language Association) style or APA (American Psychological Association) style for documenting. You may or may not have had this in EH101 or EH102. If you haven't had it yet, don't worry about it, you will not be graded on how well or correctly you cite works. I prefer APA style, I am more familiar with this style. Below are some citations samples:

Sample References #1:

"Music is a means of personal and emotional expression, both for the performer and the listener" (Nichols, pg 3).

Sample References #2:

In Musical Encounters by David C. Nichols, it says that "Music is a means of personal and emotional expression, both for the performer and the listener" (pg 3).

At the bottom of your post put a bibliographical reference:

Sample Bibliographical Citation:
